Today, 15th April 2017, it has just been announced that the driving test will be changing from 4th December 2017. As has been discussed in the press for some time the main changes are as follows: Maneouvres will be changed. The Turn in the Road and Left Reverse exercises will no longer be used. Pass Plus Course – Is It Worth It? The Pass Plus course has now been going for many years. It is actively promoted by the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency(DVSA) and driving instructors alike. Insurance companies used to offer very generous discounts to those drivers who had completed the course. However, these discounts are now reducing and becoming less common. In this article I want to share my experiences and feedback I have had from my pupils at my driving school to help you make a more informed choice about the course. I encourage this as all practice will help but you need to bear in mind certain points before you consider this option. Driving Instructors are professional, experienced people who know the standard required to pass. They will let you know when you are ready. It is not advisable to take the test if you are not ready Get some private practice. Extra experience on the road will help you gain the confidence and skills you need. If you can, get some private practice with friends or family but make sure you continue with what you have
